Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)
2 October 2024
Sustainability is of increasing importance in the business world. Today, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance significantly influences access to finance, investment decisions, and commercial relationships.
EBMOs can be catalysts when it comes to companies achieving business success through ESG.
To support of EBMOs to scale up their efforts, the ILO’s Bureau for Employers’ Activities (ACT/EMP) has launched the Leading Employers in Action for Social and Environmental Responsibility (LEADER) programme. The ILO LEADER programme is working directly with EBMOs in eight emerging economies to build their capacity to become ESG leaders.
The ILO LEADER programme supports EBMOs to improve and expand their ESG-related services to business members. Support materials developed for the programme can also be accessed by any EBMO not directly participating in the programme.
